Abstract
This study was performed to review the clinical and economic effectiveness of education and consulting for hypertension management in hypertension patients. We searched for systematic reviews and cost-effectiveness literature in Ovid-Medline, Cochrane Systematic Reviews Database, Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, and KoreaMed. The quality of the systematic reviews was e valuated using Assessment of Multiple Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR). Three systematic reviews and four cost-effectiveness studies were selected according to the inclusion/exclusion criteria. Educating the patients on ways to effectively manage hypertension reduced the patients¡¯ blood pressure and improved the blood pressure control rate. In conclusion, the education and consulting for hypertension management was both clinically effective and cost-effective.
